Day 24 - Transformed by Truth

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

DAY 24

Point to Ponder: The truth transforms me.

Verse to Remember: " If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:31-32 (KJV)

Question to Consider: What has God already told me in his Word that I haven't started doing yet?

I found this worship video on GodTube. It is filled with great imagery and bible verses. Let this be your challenge and prayer as we pursue truth in our lives.

  1. Awesome song!!!!! We have many things that we need to work on, that the Bible commands of us: trusting in God fully, reading the scripture daily and memorizing more of God's word, to name a few. We struggle to know God's will for our lives and struggle to make big decisions in our lives. However, we would probably have the answers to these questions if we spent more time in The Word.

  2. What? Billy Graham had doubts about the Bible? pg. 187 I loved this little story. It's amazing how arguably the most influential Pastor of politicans and our Nation had doubts at one time. The turning point? Trusting fully in the Bible and making it the sole authority for his life. Good stuff.

This short sentence really impacted me, "Daily Bible reading will keep you in range of God's voice." pg. 188. Life is full of unexpected problems and I tend to go at it alone or wander around aimlessly trying to figure out a solution. When I read the Bible, God's words words will always be close by.

What is God saying to me? "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

I read it. I know it. But I need to believe it. Sometimes my life will take a different course and I don't like it. I like to be in control! I like to see my future before making any decisions or commitments. It's when I walk through the smog and I'm not too sure where I am going or where God is taking me- it's then I start to feel afraid. I start to turn my heels in the opposite direction... I start doubting, because I am not in control anymore. God reminds me to put my full faith in Him; for His path is good. He will never harm me and when I follow Him (when I finally come to my senses), He has big, prosperous, hopeful plans for me. Better than the life I am living now. Double good stuff!

(Yes, I am aware of yet another lengthy post!)

  3. I need to start letting God take full control of everything. I cannot control mine or my family's health (although I could make some better healthy choices). I cannot control what people think of me, what they say behind my back, or what's going to happen tomorrow. I can only trust in God that good or bad, he is in control, and everything has its purpose for his glory.
